Well, it's best used on lakebeds of gravel, sand, or solid silt rather than weedy areas, where the Heli-Safe system is better for maximum safety. It can be cast optimally like a normal lead clip system, although when fishing at long range, it loses its effectiveness if paired with any PVA bags, due to the impact in the water and the consequent dislodging of the half swivel from the lead. For marginal fishing or laying from a boat, the COG is simply unparalleled.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Initially, there are only two available shapes with which you will be able to cover most fishing situations. The flat pear version is best used for marginal fishing or when lowering the rig from a boat, while the distance version should be chosen if you need to target carp with long-distance casts. One point worth emphasizing is that the COG boom sections are numbered (on the swivel) because it is essential that they are used with the correct lead.
